02 — First-Bar Rule
The single most important data point
- Close back below 61.8% on the next 10m bar → 78% reversal. Don't fight it — the tag failed.
- Hold for one 10m bar → reversal drops from 78% to ~49%. Coin flip.
- Hold 6–8 bars (60–80 min) → continuation favored 64% to 36%. Extended chop = consolidation, not exhaustion.
03 — Time-of-Day Effect
When the GG completes matters
- 9am completions: best for continuation (~38%, lowest reversal rate)
- 12pm–1pm completions: reverse 81–82% — midday lull is hostile
- Bearish completions resolve faster than bullish — tighter distribution, less time in chop

Momentum at the moment of GG completion is predictive: when PO has conviction, the move is more likely to follow through.

How to trade the chop zone
- Watch the first 10m bar after GG completion. A close back below 61.8% is a 78% reversal signal. Take profit, flip, or stand aside — do not add.
- If price holds 61.8% for one bar, it's a coin flip. Don't size up here. Wait for either momentum (PO continues to extend) or for chop to extend through 60+ minutes.
- 60+ minutes in chop favors continuation. Extended consolidation above 61.8% is building energy, not exhaustion. Bias to the existing direction.
- Avoid 12–1pm GG completions. Reversal rate hits 81–82% in the midday lull. Best continuation hour is 9am.
